Everything you need to know about TRT, PrEP and sexual health care at AHM.
General
Are consultations confidential? expand_more
Yes. All consultations are private and confidential. Our telehealth service lets you discuss sensitive concerns discreetly from anywhere in Australia.
PrEP
What is HIV PrEP and how effective is it? expand_more
PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a highly effective medication for preventing HIV. When taken as prescribed it reduces the risk of HIV from sex by around 99%. It can be taken daily or, for some people, on-demand.
How often do I need blood tests on PrEP? expand_more
Most people on PrEP have a baseline assessment then routine monitoring every 3 months, with a more comprehensive review at 12 months. We make ordering pathology simple through our partner labs.
Sexual Health
Do you treat erectile dysfunction? expand_more
Yes. We provide evidence-based assessment and treatment for erectile dysfunction and performance concerns, including identifying any underlying health factors.
TRT
What is Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)? expand_more
TRT restores testosterone to a healthy range in men with a clinically confirmed deficiency. After reviewing your symptoms and blood tests, our GPs develop a personalised plan that may include injections, gels or other options, with ongoing monitoring.
How do I know if I have low testosterone? expand_more
Common symptoms include persistent fatigue, low libido, reduced motivation, mood changes and difficulty building muscle. Diagnosis requires a blood test (ideally a morning sample), which we arrange as part of your assessment.
